The Moving Fireplaces Festival 2023 comprises a series of events with diverse characters, such as theater shows, documentary film screenings, conferences, exhibitions of naive arts and artist talks, that take place in Timișoara and other cities in the historical region of Banat, from 1 September to 29 October 2023. 

The projects that create the festival were selected through the Call for projects and artistic interventions for the Moving Fireplaces Festival 2023 and are produced within the framework of artistic residences by 10 artists / artist teams from Ukraine, Serbia and Romania. 

At the root of all the events stays the collection of stories about migration, war, displacement, revolution and memory, gathered by a multidisciplinary team during the research phase of the project Moving Fireplaces in 2022, in Romania, Serbia, Hungary and Ukraine. By reinterpreting the stories and transforming them into contemporary art expressions, the artists become, themselves, storytellers, active participants in enriching the memory of the community.
